A Voice for Forgotten Children

Health Needs

In many developing countries, the health care system is lacking. Point Hope has donated millions of dollars of medical equipment and supplies, that although used, is still in good shape and replaces worn-out and unsterile equipment in West Africa.

This is a bed in a health clinic in Ghana. There is no way to clean or sterilize the bed and many patients are seen on it each day at this clinic. Point Hope purchased used beds and other medical supplies from military hospitals and donated them to clinics through out Ghana.

Save a Life...

When you realize that for $12 you can purchase medicine to save a child's life who is suffering from malaria, suddenly you realize how much power you have to be a light in the darkness.

Malnourishment contributes to other health issues

As with all the children we try to serve, Point Hope takes a holistic approach to health. In order to keep a child healthy, they must have adequate nutrition. Here TC, one of the many wonderful people who has volunteered time and knowledge to Point Hope over the years, is examining Sangay, one of the kids we adore who suffers from malnourishment.

Malaria, the deadly effects of a mosquito bite...

In Ghana many children and adults suffer and die each year from malaria, a deadly organism that is spread through mosquito bites. Since most bite at night, mosquito netting (a $10.00 donation buys a mosquito net for a child) helps to save lives. Point Hope has provided funding for hundreds of patients suffering from malaria to be treated at local clinics and hospitals.
