Feed A Child
 Children can’t learn and play without the nutrients necessary to fuel their growing bodies. In Buduburam, very few children ever get the luxury of a full and satisfying meal like the ones that most of us take for granted. Tiny portions of rice are just about the only thing that any of them ever get to eat. Mothers and fathers have to stand in long lines to receive rations of rice provided by charities; most families have many mouths to feed, and not enough food to feed them with, so children continue to go hungry in spite of the existing charity efforts. Even those that do get fed do not get what they need, as rice alone is not sufficient to provide the macronutrients, vitamins, and minerals necessary to maintain a strong immune system and support a child’s growth and development. Malnutrition leaves the body weak, leaving the afflicted unable to combat disease. In Buduburam, the combination of starvation and disease kills one in four children under the age of five.
