Education is an absolutely integral component of child development. A good education sets the foundation for a healthy, self-aware, and productive adulthood, and attending school gives parents the opportunity to work without having to worry about the safety of their kids. The parents of Buduburam cannot rely on a benevolent state to provide education for their children, so they have to rely upon the charity of others. Although there are schools in Buduburam, most families cannot afford to pay the tuition.

Point Hope recognizes the integral role that education plays in the development of a child, and the downstream impact of a child’s education on the future of the community. We’ve made it our goal to fund the K-12 education of as many children as we possibly can. In addition, we’ve recently established another initiative to extend education for the mentally and physically disabled, as well, because education is just as important for them than it is for anyone else, if not even more.
